I was a complete beginner when I started taking lessons with Troy. I was definitely nervous about it at the time as no one had really heard my terrible playing before; Troy was easy going and patient and which made for a comfortable and fun learning environment. Troy is incredibly knowledgeable so many styles of playing and theory, he sculpts your lessons around what you want to play and who you love to listen to. No one wants a teacher with a rigid, cookie cutter lesson plan that he applies to every student, playing mary had a little lamb off a piece of sheet music. With Troy I was able to tell him I was curious about theory, scales, or exactly how Jimmy Page played that particular solo and get a lesson on it on the spot. More than anything Troy's a really great guy and friend, he'll never sound condescending when teaching and flat out knows how to make you a better player. I stopped taking lessons when I moved out of MA 5 years ago and he still happily answers any questions I send him. Whatever your skill level I highly recommend lessons with Troy Price.

As a parent of a student of Troys I would just like to say that there is no better person I know of to teach. The skills, patience and dedication he has for them is beyond belief! My son has been taking lessons from him for over 4 years now and Troy has gone above and beyond all expectations!!! He has helped him with his music auditions for college and many other things not any teacher would do.I have been playing for many years but wanted my son to learn theory and reading like I never did, when my son leaves for college this fall (in a music program that he,s yearned for) I might take his spot with Troy to better myself in my abilitys! Thank you Troy you truely are the best!!!

Troy got me started on the guitar over 10 years ago. He was able to get me from ZERO experience to being comfortable with a guitar extremely quickly. Most importantly, he had the unique ability to sate to my teenage impulsiveness (to play easy chords to impress girls) - while at the same time laying down the proper foundation for a lifetime of improvement.

While I was only with Troy a short time (about 6-8 months), getting started with him set me on the correct path to avoid a lot of bad habits and really grow as a musician.

Troy is a funny guy and a top notch music instructor.

Learning to play the guitar can be intimidating, to say the least. When I decided to learn this instrument I knew that competent instruction was the key. After playing for some time and struggling with developing skills, Troy was recommended to me through a friend (player) that I highly respect. Within a very short time, Troy was able to indetify my "problem areas" and quickly developed a program to improve my playing. He is my current guitar instructor and I look forward to my weekly lessons. His understanding of music and his teaching ability allow him to convey the ideas and information in a way that is easy for people to understand. Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate player, or an advanced guitarist, I would not hesitate to recommend Troy. His skills, knowledge, and friendly personality make him a great choice for lessons.

I have the best time leaning how to play with Troy. He makes it fun and helps you learn whatever you want to play. He has become a good friend also. I wouldn't want any other instructor.

I began taking lessons from Troy in middle school and at the time I was a true novice in all areas of music. Troy not only taught me the technical areas of guitar, he taught me how to be creative and how to appreciate music. I have been playing guitar for over 13 years, and have had many so called "teachers", most of which were a waste of time and money. After years of searching for a competent guitar teacher, I was referred to Troy Price through a mutual friend. Lets just say my search ended the day i met Troy. Right off the bat he was personable, grounded, and best of all very knowledgeable . His continuous search for different techniques and styles, and his profound ability to implicate them into his lessons was the main reason I decided to stay with Troy. If you have a question about ANY style of playing, or a question about ANYTHING at all about music, Troy will take it upon himself to become a student of that himself, and then break it down to the basics to find the best way to get that knowledge to you as a student. Troy is highly knowledgeable in the music field. As an instructor, he is able to teach to all types of music. He is flexible, creative and skillful in his teaching. Being a novice when I started, after two years, I have learned a variety of songs from many genres. Troy is a great, easy-going person. I would recommend him to anyone!

Troy is an excellent teacher, both from a professional aspect and from a personal aspect. He has helped me develope from a green guitarist, to someone capable of holding his own with bands.
